    Mentoring is most commonly thought of as bound by geographical location, but it doesn't have to be.  Technologies like the internet have broken the proximity barriers usually associated with mentoring.  Mentors and mentees no longer need to live in the same area, or even the same country.  When looking for a mentor, remember to consider those outside of your geographical location.  You never know who you'll find!

    There are many times in life where we make things much harder than they need to be.  If you find yourself in a difficult situation and you don't know where to turn, look around and see what you can do to simplify and consolidate.  When problems are boiled down to their core they often aren't as intimidating.  Talk with your mentoring partner about the parts of your life that need simplifying.

    It's the time of year when students return from their winter break activities and head back to class.  Although breaks of this sort are very much needed, during this time students loose a great deal of the knowledge they had previously learned.  Talk with your mentoring partner about how you can dedicate yourself to becoming a lifelong learner - education is the greatest gift you can give yourself.
