Take time to get to the point when mentoring. Make sure your mentee is ready for the information you want to give. Mentoring is not a race to the finish line. 

Remember, even the mentor needs a mentor sometimes. Regardless of experience and age, mentoring is always beneficial to you. 

When presented with a difficult task we often resort to the most logical solution.  Before making a decision, ask yourself “If I had no barriers, how would I solve this problem?”  Imagination can often provide an alternative solution that may have originally be overlooked.  Speak with your mentor today about out of the box solutions to everyday problems.

When in a mentoring relationship, either as a mentor or as a mentee, it can be easy to focus on personal benefits.  However, it has been noted that those who put others’ needs first tend to gain the most.  Today, take a moment to reflect on how you can assist those around you.  You may find you gain more in the end.
